During the final testing phase, we will be adding new services and capabilities. As such, the server will be located at our office for direct and rapid access to resolve any problems that might occur. For planned additions, please check back and read the notices in the left-hand boxes at each page.
The server is backed up on a daily basis at 2 a.m., and each backup is kept for a minimum of one month. Should any failures or data loss occur (including accidental deletion by your webmaster), your data will be restored within 24 hours.
Vanco Computing has set up two monitoring services, one local and one external. They test the prgrams that our customers rely on, and they will notify our technicians should the server become slow or unresponsive. The technician(s) will be e-mailed and will receive a telephone call. As such, any downtimes will be kept to an absolute minimum. The tests will be performed every 2 minutes locally, and 10 minutes remotely, 24/7.
We are currently working on a more robust system that will allow for near instant, in-house failover at a seperate location. Should the primary system stop responding, the secondary server will take over. Once implemented, this will virtually guarantee that our services will not be interrupted. This will also allow us to maintain our backups in-house, which gives us greater control over the load it places on our systems. Our goal is to prevent any significant system slowdowns due to regular backups.
The Company
Vanco Computing is a small but growing computer services company in the city of Santa Rosa in California. We provide everything from custom computer systems to networking and domains. The business is run out of owner's home, and has access to several contractors to assist with the larger or more difficult tasks.
This web hosting service is designed to complement those services with small to medium sized businesses so as to provide a comprehensive set of services for any client. This allows a business to have all of their needs provided through a single vendor for PCs, networking, servers, domain administration, web hosting, and soon e-mail accounts.
The only technology that Vanco Computing cannot service at this time is telecommunications such as telephone systems or VOIP. What we can do is help a business get set up with the appropriate type of internet connection, and if that happens to include a T1 or T3 connection, then we can reserve portions of that service for telephone use.
Currently Vanco Computing is working on providing the following services, and expects to be able to offer them in the near future: paperless systems, firewalls and secure VPN access. We are also working on providing Cisco networking for inter-office communication, large offices or for simple internet access with extra features.
